RYA Motor Cruising Day Skipper Practical £999

The RYA Day Skipper Power / Motor Cruising Course run by our friends at Solent Boat Training aims to teach pilotage, navigation, seamanship and boat handling to the standard required to skipper a motor cruiser safely by day in tidal waters with which the student is familiar.  Over the 4 days of the course you will also receive an introduction to making a passage at night . Costing £999 per person, which includes accommodation on board the motor yacht for the duration of the course.

We would advise all students to have some boating experience to ensure that they gain the most from this course. A minimum qualification of a Powerboat Level 2 certificate is essential, but completing the RYA Helmsman course course is useful.  Knowledge to at least Day Skipper Theory is also required.  As motor cruising courses are not cheap due to the size of boats we have to use, this preparation will maximise your learning experience. We can help you with a bespoke day in the classroom with an instructor.

Shiraz.jpg    The course is taught on our Nimbus 370 Motorboat which is an excellent & forgiving vessel for learning on.  This flybridge motorboat is the perfect platform for this course offering excellent viability and space.
We can run the course with a maximum of 4 students which ensures the boat has enough crew allowing the instructor to concentrate on the teaching of the student on the helm.

We run many RYA day skipper motor cruising courses per year that can be found on the calendar below. We generally run 1 course per month but we are always happy to add extra courses on demand, so just give us a call if you can`t find a suitable course below.

Don`t forget that it is helpful to hold the RYA Day Skipper Theory certificate before taking this practical course that you can also take with our school for just £299.
